A private event is a group that takes a room as a whole. No one else sits there, even if there is room left.
Setting a room for private hire
In the room's settings, tick private hire and say from how many guests. Below that threshold, Klarr politely refuses rather than have you block a room for six people.
A room can accept both: ordinary tables and private hire. That is the usual case for the main room. A cellar, on the other hand, is often only rented as a whole — then untick "individual bookings".
What Klarr guarantees
A room privatised for a service is entirely taken off sale for that service. No individual table will be added to it.
And the reverse is true too: Klarr only accepts a private event if the room is entirely free for that slot. You don't move guests already expected to make room for a group.
Lunch and dinner remain independent: a cellar privatised at lunch can be rented again in the evening.
Asking for a deposit
You can ask for a guarantee on private events, and on them alone — a table for two doesn't block a room, and asking it for a guarantee would drive guests away without protecting anything.
Two options, to choose per room:
- a deposit — an amount actually collected, as a flat fee or per cover;
- a card guarantee — the card is registered but nothing is charged, except in case of a no-show.
The two are exclusive: you don't ask the same guest for both. See the dedicated articles.
